Check what is visible
Look beyond the main action. Usernames, private messages, notifications, location clues, and account details may appear at the edges of a screenshot. Crop or hide sensitive elements before posting, and do not assume a public game session makes every detail public.
Ask who else is represented
Another player’s character, voice, or creative work may be central to the image. Check the community’s sharing rules and ask when a person could reasonably expect the moment to stay in the group. Give credit where it is due.
Explain the moment
Write a caption that tells an unfamiliar viewer what they are seeing and why it matters. Avoid presenting a staged scene as spontaneous or a private interaction as public community news.
Make the image accessible
Add alt text that describes the important visual information: who or what is in frame, the action, and any on-screen text needed to understand it. Do not repeat decorative details while missing the point of the image.
Keep a source copy
Save the original separately if you edit a version for sharing. That makes it easier to correct a caption or crop later without losing the source. If someone asks to remove their contribution, handle the request promptly and respectfully.
