Capture facts before interpretation
Soon after play, write the date, the characters present, the place, and two or three things that happened. Separate what your character knows from what you as a player know. That keeps future scenes consistent without turning private information into an accidental character advantage.
Record changed relationships
Note whether trust increased, a disagreement remains, or a promise was made. Quote a short phrase only if the wording matters. You do not need a transcript. A useful recap makes it easy to pick up a thread weeks later.
Find one next scene
Turn a loose end into a question: Who can answer it? What would your character risk to learn more? Could another player reasonably decline? Pick one next action that fits the community rules and other players’ availability.
Respect other people’s stories
Keep private or sensitive scenes private unless everyone involved agrees to share them. If you publish a recap, check names, screenshots, and context with the people represented. A shared story is not yours alone to publish.
A reusable note format
Write four lines: “Present,” “What changed,” “Open question,” and “Next invitation.” For example: “Present: Mara and Jules. Changed: Mara agreed to help with the event. Open question: who has the venue key? Next invitation: ask Jules to inspect the space.” Keep the note private until the people involved agree to share it.
